Some news from the farm.
This Sunday, 23 August, will be the last service in our restaurant and farm shop for a little while.
We've been growing, cooking and serving in this corner of Hampshire since 1977, and next year we turn 50. Before we get there, we're closing the doors — not for good, and not goodbye — to take the time to bring Applegarth back to its best.
We'll be straight with you: this last year hasn't been our best. We know it, and many of you have told us — kindly, and fairly. Applegarth should be a place you're proud to bring the people you love, and that's exactly what we're going to bring back.
So rather than carry on at less than our best, we're pressing pause. Over the coming months the building will be rebuilt quite literally from top to bottom — a new roof overhead, underfloor heating underfoot, and everything in between rethought: the food, the spaces, the whole experience — ready to reopen later this year.
And we're not going anywhere. While the work happens, our Cookery School will transform into a mini production space — serving our exceptional coffee, tea and cake, and light bites to enjoy in the garden while the sun's still with us, from [date]. The farm stays busy too: our neighbours in the cabins are open as usual, and Bucci Pizza will be firing up every Saturday.
The practical bits: • Gift vouchers remain valid and will be honoured in full when we reopen. • If you have a booking with us, we'll be in touch personally this week.
Come and see us tomorrow night for pizza's and cocktails — we'd love to send this chapter off properly.
Thank you for the first 49 years. The best of Applegarth is still ahead.
The Applegarth Family
WELCOME TO OUR FARM
Welcome to Applegarth, where we're redefining the future of farming right here on the Surrey-Hampshire border in Grayshott. Our family’s farmland is at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, producing fresh, high-quality food that’s as local as it gets.
At the heart of our operations is our innovative vertical farm, growing produce year-round that travels just feet—not miles—to our restaurant and farm shop. This cutting-edge approach guarantees a steady supply of fresh ingredients while future-proofing our farming practices. We're passionate about sustainability and proud to be pioneers in modern agriculture.
Whether you're dining at our restaurant or browsing the farm shop, you'll enjoy an experience steeped in our commitment to sustainability and quality. Come see how we're going the extra mile to bring you the best, every single day.
