THE COOKERY SCHOOL
Welcome to the Applegarth Cookery School. Our courses focus on real food and simple cooking techniques that will educate and enhance your wellbeing. We are deeply inspired by our own farmland and are proud to uphold the highest standards of ethical sustainability in everything we do throughout all aspects of the business.
Let our resident & guest tutors show you how to produce beautiful food straight from the soil and reconnect with the land as you learn valuable skills, recipes and artisan techniques to change the way you cook forever.
Please note that we are in the process of adding further packaged courses to our calendar. Keep an eye out for the latest information.
Bespoke cooking classes, tailored for you
Our Cookery School is available for private cooking lessons, giving you the opportunity to refine your skills or learn something new in a small group or one-on-one environment. From recreating restaurant favourites to conquering the basics, our private classes can cover any topic, technique or taste you like. Bring your friends along for a shared culinary adventure, or keep it simple by sharing it with someone special in a couples cooking class. We can also arrange cooking classes for children over 12 years of age who may be looking to expand their culinary repertoire or learning to cook for their skills requirement of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Whatever the menu, every private cooking lesson includes the use of high-quality ingredients and equipment, as well as a dedicated teacher. This means you won’t waste any time, instead spending every second of your private cooking class learning all that you can about your chosen menu, picking up handy tips and tricks that you can use again in your kitchen at home. We can cater for all dietary and allergy requirements as well, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.
Our hands-on approach to cooking means that you will learn as much as possible during your session. THE COOKERY CLUB
Every Thursday, 10am–1pm
'What’s the best thing you’ve made?' we asked.
'Friends,' he replied, without missing a beat.
As we mature, diet becomes more important, not only from a health perspective, but also because we have more time to enjoy the preparation, presentation and consumption of food. However, not everyone is as accomplished as Jamie Oliver or Delia Smith. Some of us need a little help with our culinary skills.
Our Cookery Club is aimed at helping mature adults to prepare and cook wholesome food, serving the dual purpose of a skills-based class and a lunch club – you can eat the food you have prepared during the morning, in a social setting.
Cooking instructor Stephanie Benson, will talk you through various processes, such as how to make sauces, fillet fish and bake bread – all in a relaxed & friendly environment.
