| Jenkyn Place sparkling wine (British champagne)
I've always been pretty taken with the idea that this country produces, on a good day, pretty poor wine. I've had many people trying to sell our Farmshop & Restaurant the latest and greatest English wine and every time I've 'declined' the invitation.
That was until I tried Jenkyn Place. An absolutely stunning sparkling wine made 10 miles away from Applegarth on the North Downs in Hampshire. In total these guys have 1700 vines which is pretty small scale, they only started in 2006.
Winning an award at the English and Welsh wine of the year Competition the Judges had this to say:
"a pale gold colour with fine bubbles, lightly yeasty with medium acidity to balance. The style is light brut with a delicate fruit character"
It really is very quaffable, with a really subtle, delicate taste.
Cocoa Loco Dark organic Truffles
Having won The Times organic hero and the 'best producer in Sussex' awards, Cocoa loco have come a long way since 2005. Set up by husband and wife team Sarah and Rory, their chocolates are just superb and produced just 30 miles from Applegarth.
This box of Dark chocolates are just delicious and work very well with the Jenkyn place.
All presented in a stunning red, double compartment box.
